JSR Dynamics FY26 Results: ₹2.31 Crore Profit, Zero Sales and a BBB- Credit Rating

JSR Dynamics has filed audited accounts for FY2026, the year to March 2026. It made a profit after a loss year, but it still has not booked a rupee of sales. Here is what the numbers show, what the new credit rating says, and what both mean for a share quoted at ₹12,250.

The Nagpur glide-bomb maker has been the most-watched unlisted defence name since the Indian Air Force said its Khagantak-243 cleared a drop trial on September 2. The quote jumped from ₹8,950 to ₹12,250 in the week to October 9 and has stayed between ₹11,950 and ₹12,250 since. The accounts are the first hard data since that rally.

FY2026 figures are from the audited statements (signed August 27, 2026) and the Infomerics rating note of October 9, 2026. FY2024 debt is borrowings from the filed balance sheet.

Three things stand out:

  1. Sales are still zero. This is the third straight year with no revenue from operations.
  2. The profit is not from the business. It comes from other income, explained below.
  3. Debt is going up again. Total debt rose by about ₹20 crore in a year with no sales.

Where the ₹2.31 crore profit came from

Total income of ₹7.72 crore was made up of:

  • a ₹5.15 crore government grant,
  • ₹1.62 crore of interest on fixed deposits (the cash left over from the 2025 funding round), and
  • a ₹0.94 crore foreign-exchange gain.

Without the grant, profit before tax would have been a loss of about ₹3.2 crore. The accounts do not say which scheme paid the grant. JSR has won awards under the iDEX and ADITI defence-innovation programmes, which pay part of a product's development cost in milestones, so development funding is the likely source.

EBITDA has been positive for three years even with no sales. That is because the cost of building weapons for future delivery is held on the balance sheet as inventory (₹123 crore at March 2025) instead of being charged to the profit and loss account. That inventory becomes revenue only when the armed forces accept deliveries.

The balance sheet: more debt, same equity

  • Total debt rose from ₹35.19 crore to ₹55.75 crore. Overall gearing (debt to tangible net worth) went from 0.29 times to 0.47 times.
  • Interest is only just covered. Interest coverage was 1.10 times, up from 0.84 times in FY2025.
  • Liquidity is adequate. Infomerics puts net cash accruals at ₹8.12 crore and the current ratio at 1.86 times. Average use of working-capital limits was about 68.5% in the 12 months to September 2026.
  • No new equity. Shareholders' funds barely moved (₹129 crore to ₹131 crore), because the ₹167 crore CCPS round came in during FY2025.

A company that is still waiting for deliveries usually funds its inventory with bank lines. Rising debt is not alarming at this size, but it is the number to watch if sales keep slipping.

What the credit rating says

On October 9, 2026, Infomerics Ratings reaffirmed JSR's bank-loan ratings:

Facility₹ croreRating
Cash credit40.00IVR BBB- / Stable
ECLGS term loan (to May 2031)6.59IVR BBB- / Stable
Bank guarantees60.00IVR A3
Total106.59(enhanced from ₹100 crore)

BBB- is the lowest investment-grade rating: a moderate degree of safety on bank debt. It is a view on repaying loans, not a view on the share price.

Strengths Infomerics listed: the promoters' experience and their record of bringing in funds when needed; a niche, in-house product range of glide bombs, cruise missiles, rockets and range-extension kits; and the Khagantak, developed with Bharat Electronics (BEL) as a development-cum-production partner, which it said "has received validation from Indian government".

Weaknesses: capital-intensive operations with high inventory of specialised alloy steel and carbon fibre, and the regulatory and safety risks of handling restricted materials.

What would lift the rating: "timely execution of order book" that turns into revenue and profit on a sustained basis. What would cut it: falling revenue or margins, or a big rise in debt.

The ₹60 crore of bank guarantees is worth noticing. Defence buyers usually ask for guarantees against advance payments and performance, so a larger guarantee line is consistent with a company preparing to deliver, but it is not proof of new orders.

Against what was promised

The numbers that justified the 2025 funding round were much higher:

FY2026ProjectedActual
Revenue (ORIM investor note, Dec 2024)₹690 croreNil
Net profit (ORIM investor note)₹300 crore₹2.31 crore
Net profit (registered valuer's report, Nov 2024)₹311 crore₹2.31 crore

The registered valuer's report set the ₹6,514 price of the 2025 CCPS round. Its FY2025 profit projection of ₹18.75 crore was also missed: the company lost ₹2.18 crore that year.

This does not mean the orders are imaginary. Defence revenue is booked only when deliveries pass acceptance, and trials, aircraft integration and paperwork routinely push dates out. The September drop trial was a real milestone. But the timeline in the pitch has slipped by at least two years, and investors should treat company projections accordingly.

What it means at ₹12,250

  • Price to earnings: about 1,060 times FY2026 EPS of ₹11.54. That ratio is close to meaningless for a pre-revenue company, but it confirms that today's price is almost entirely a bet on future orders.
  • Market cap: about ₹2,760 crore on 22.53 lakh equity shares. If you have seen ₹7,665 crore elsewhere, that figure counts 40 lakh preference shares as equity. Our JSR Dynamics market cap explainer shows the maths.
  • Price to book: about 22 times, using FY2026 net worth of roughly ₹565 per equity share.

One more thing to keep in mind: BEL is the prime contractor on the Khagantak. When orders arrive, JSR's revenue is its share of the work, not the full contract value.

What to watch next

  1. BEL announcements. BEL is listed and discloses large orders. A follow-on Khagantak order from the IAF would show up there first.
  2. First delivery revenue. FY2026 had none. As an unlisted company, JSR does not publish quarterly results, so the FY2027 accounts (due around September 2027) are the next audited check.
  3. Debt and the rating. Another ₹20 crore rise in debt without sales would test the "Stable" outlook.
  4. An IPO filing. JSR became a public limited company in April 2026 but has not filed draft papers. See what the conversion means.

The bottom line

FY2026 changes little about the JSR story and a lot about the timeline. The company is real, rated investment grade by its lender's rating agency, and has a weapon the IAF has tested successfully. But it has now gone three full years without sales, and the profit it reported came from a grant and interest. At ₹12,250 you are paying for deliveries that have not happened yet. Buy only if you can wait for them, and size the position so a long delay would not hurt.
