Polymatech Electronics is one of the more unusual names in India's unlisted market: a home-grown opto-semiconductor chip maker riding the domestic-chip theme.
The business
Incorporated in 2007 near Chennai and taken over by the Nandam family in 2019, Polymatech describes itself as India's first opto-semiconductor chip manufacturer — building LED and opto-electronic chips on Japanese and European technology and expanding into semiconductor packaging (OSAT). It reportedly opened a Singapore manufacturing hub in 2026 as it scales.
IPO history
Polymatech filed a draft IPO (DRHP) with SEBI in 2023 for a proposed Rs 750 crore fresh issue, but that offering was postponed. Reports since suggest the company may return with a larger listing to fund capacity expansion. There is no confirmed IPO date.
Unlisted price and mechanics
Note that Polymatech's per-share price and share count have been adjusted over time, so an old rupee quote may not be comparable to today's. Check the current Polymatech unlisted share price rather than a forwarded screenshot. Confirm the ISIN so it is not mixed up with a listed chemicals namesake; settlement is an off-market demat transfer after KYC.
Risks
Semiconductor manufacturing is capital-intensive with real execution risk; the unlisted stock is illiquid with wide spreads; and the market cap already prices a lot of the "India chip" optimism. A listing is not guaranteed and would carry a six-month lock-in.
Disclaimer: Unlisted shares are illiquid and prices are indicative, not exchange-quoted. A listing is never guaranteed. ShareSaathi settles confirmed lots off-market to your demat; this is information, not investment advice.
